Shooting and hunting lessons. Guided hunts.
Introduction to Shotgunning (2 hour session), including safety instruction, gun fit check or loaner gun, eye and ear protection, non-toxic shells and clay targets. Held at Joy of Hunting in Shepherd, MT. Coach: Anne ( NSCA Certified Level 1 Instructor).
$70 for one person, $100 for 2 people
Shotgun lessons held at one of Billings's Sporting Clays ranges with Anne . Bring your own gun, pay for your own targets and shells.
One person (90 minute lesson): $40 per person; 5-lesson package $175.
Two people (sharing a 2 hour lesson): $30 per person; 5 lesson package $130 per person.
Half-day "Clays to Birds" practice drills and Walk-Up Safety drills, at Shepherd. Includes targets and ammunition.
$150 per person (minimum 2 people).
One Day: "Clays to Birds" training in the morning followed by an afternoon Pheasant Hunt (3-bird limit per person) with guide and dogs.
$390 per hunter (minimum 2 people).
Half-day simulated duck-blind shooting drills and basic duck hunting strategies (calling and decoying). Multiple targets thrown.
$175 per person (2-person minimum).
Add a morning OR evening duck / goose hunt (in season).
$100 per hunter (2-person minimum).
Add accommodation, with dinner and breakfast.
$150 per person.
Lunch is included in all-day courses. Individual rates on application.

Hunting licenses are not included and are the responsibility of the hunter (we can help you purchase the correct license online). If you were born after 1 January 1985 you will need Hunter Safety in order to purchase a Montana hunting license.

What to bring.
If you have them, you should bring these items:
In addition, if you're coming to hunt with us, bring:
- Your own gun.
- A shooting or hunting vest that fits you reasonably well across the shoulders, with shoulder padding / recoil pad.
- Any spare choke tubes that came with your gun.
- Any shims and tools that came with your gun.
- The user manual!!!! (You never know....).
- Ear plugs and safety / shooting glasses.
In addition, if you're coming to hunt with us, bring:
- walking boots, preferably waterproof
- rubber, calf-length boots during Sept and Oct, for wetland hunting (check with us first whether you will need them on your course)
- layered clothing
- Camo outerwear or subtly-colored clothing (grey, dark green, brown, boring) for duck hunting.
- Gloves, scarf, warm hat - better be safe than sorry.
